Teenager dies after a trip & fall

A 16 year old collapsed and died after tripping and falling while out walking with friends.

The young man was walking along Broadleas Road, Devises with friends during the early hours of Saturday morning when he tripped and fell.

A passer-by assisted his friends in an attempt to revive him and administered first aid until an ambulance arrived. He was taken to the Royal United Hospital where he later died. His death is not being treated as suspicious although the exact cause of death is not yet known.

Det Sgt Sarah Billinge, who is investigating the death has asked for anyone who was in the area of Broadleas Road between 4.00 and 5.30am on Saturday 27th June to contact her. She said “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of this young man at what is an extremely difficult time.

“An investigation has been launched, as is normal procedure with any sudden death, to ascertain the surrounding circumstances.”
