Update: August 2021

Durham Constabulary have responded confirming a full review of the case was conducted by one of their senior officers and whilst there is still ongoing investigation into questions being asked by Ann Herons family, no further reinvestigation will take place. Their conduct was deemed fair and proper.

Alistair Smith will be writing to the IoPC this week on behalf of the family to ask them to investigate Durham Constabularies initial conduct of the case as well as to appoint an independent force to reinvestigate the case, the Constabularly have effectively reinvestigated themselves and on this basis, cannot act without bias. The copliant will also detail how DC revisited witnesses and encouraged them to amend statements from 15 years ago, which we believe were then used to justify the arrest of Peter in 2005, despite there being no conclusive supporting evidence.

Alistair has also repeatedly expressed concern to Durham Constabulary as to why they have updated Ann Herons family, but not Peter who was arrested and accused.

Alistair Smith is available for interview today and tomorrow on 07769297642 should you wish to speak further with him.
