Haleem Ishfaq
I graduated from Northumbria University in 2024, completing Integrated Masters Programme in Law which included the Legal Practice Course.
During my academic journey, I gained valuable experience through several legal internships. I was a Student Legal Advisor as part of Northumbria University providing pro bono legal advice on criminal law cases. I completed a summer legal vacation scheme with Sainsburys.
After completing my studies, I worked as part of the housing department on behalf of the Civil Legal Advice service. In this role, I advised clients on possession proceedings, homelessness, anti-social behaviour, harassment and housing disrepair.
I completed the first seat of the training contract with the firm’s sister company as part of the Conveyancing team, where I assisted in the purchase and sale of residential properties. During this time, I built upon my existing experience by supporting a wide range of matters, developing my knowledge of property law, case management, and the practical aspects of residential conveyancing.
As part of my continued professional development, I will have the opportunity to attend both the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court, gaining first-hand experience to criminal proceedings. I will also work towards obtaining my Police Station Accreditation, which will enable me to provide representation and advice during police station interviews.
