I worked in criminal law for 36 years and gained my degree part-time whilst working full-time and raising a family of three kids.

I have decades of experience in both the crown and magistrates court. In 2022, I joined Watson Woodhouse as I was interested in developing my skills and helping support people who may be experiencing difficulties or in need of assistance.

I specialise in Mental Health Law and represent clients before Mental Health Tribunals, Managers Meetings, and Care Plan Meetings for restricted and unrestricted clients. My work involves visiting, advising and representing patients detained by the state who want either to be released or to have input on their treatment plans. I am a member of The Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Panel.

Separately, I support families of loved ones who have died in unexplained or unexpected circumstances requiring an Inquest investigation by the Coroner. I can provide advice, guidance and empathy to try to make such a difficult time less stressful, this may be drafting statements, representing the families’ interests at the inquest hearing, obtaining documents to assist the Coroner and explaining the process from start to finish.
