Rottweilers attacked the 75-year-old woman
Dorothy Dickinson was the victim of a vicious attack from two Rottweilers in Belfast in July 2009.
75-year-old Mrs Dickinson was walking her small dog in the street when the two dogs set upon her, dragging her to the ground and into the middle of the road, where she lay unconscious.
“Once a dog has a taste for blood, it doesn’t care who it’s savaging,” said her daughter Gillian of the attack which only ended when some men stepped in and beat the dogs away with a bottle (BBC News, 2009).
Belfast City Council says they adopt “an extremely robust approach” to dog attacks, and will not hesitate to prosecute a dog owner.
