A 25-year-old man was killed in a quad bike incident in July 2008. A court has now heard that the quad bike’s suspension collapsed leading to the car crash.
25-year-old Paul Campbell lost control of his bike after the suspension failed when he was quad biking with his fiancée, Melissa Irving in Scotland. Mr Campbell lost control of the bike and collided with an oncoming car, which pushed him seven metres along the road. He sadly died from excessive bleeding and severe chest injuries.
Despite the vehicle only having been bought a few days ago, witnesses at Dumfries Sheriff Court claimed the suspension had failed whilst the couple had been driving at speeds of around 40mph. The spring and damper unit were found close to the scene of the incident.
