A four-year-old child has sustained serious injuries after she was attacked by three dogs.
The young girl has been treated in hospital for wounds to her face and body after she was attacked by three Napoleon Mastiff dogs.
The young girl was playing with the three dogs which were owned by a family member, when they suddenly attacked her. They have since been destroyed.
Police were called to a house in Ystalyfera in the Swansea valley on Saturday. A spokesman for South Wales Police said that the young girl had suffered cuts to her face and scalp and several puncture wounds to her body.
She was taken to Cardiff hospital where her injuries were said to be not life-threatening. She remains in hospital as she may need an operation to reduce the risk of severe scarring.
A spokesman for the police said: “The dogs have been destroyed under police supervision.”
