  • About Me

In September 2020, I started my Solicitor Degree Apprenticeship with Watson Woodhouse. From the start of my Apprenticeship, I have worked within the Crown Court and Complex Crime team. During this time, I have received a unique perspective on the inner workings of heavy criminal litigation. I began as an assistant to the Head of Department, and as my experience started to grow, I have taken on a busy and varied caseload.

At Watson Woodhouse, I have also qualified as an Accredited Police Station Representative, where I advise and assist people who have been arrested and who are to be interviewed by the police.

From my role in the Crown Court team, I understand how crucial communication is to ease my clients and to actively advance the defence case. I use the same procedures deployed in defending cases in the Crown Court to my clients in the police station. While the work environments are very different, there are a lot of parallels between the two work areas. It is through the application of these principles that I ensure I give my clients the best possible service.

Notable Cases:
April 2024 – Client acquitted of rape unanimously following a 5-day trial at Durham Crown Court.
July 2023 – R v C – Client accused of causing death by dangerous driving. Following successful in a Newton Hearing which reduced his sentence significantly after reviewing a vast amount of telephone evidence that contradicted the prosecution’s version of events.
June 2023 – R v J – Serving soldier acquitted of sexual offences following trial after careful consideration of the electronic evidence.
May 2023 – R v H – Crown offered no evidence against client charged with rape on the morning of trial as a result of defence preparation.
September 2023 – R v D – Represented a youth accused of rape at the police station. Following advice given in interview, the police took no further action against the client.
