Alistair Smith
I have been a qualified solicitor for 25 years, with most of my time being spent dealing with litigation matters.
I am very experienced in personal injury claims, having dealt with many Claimants who have been severely injured with a variety of injuries including brain injuries, paralysis, loss of eyes and limbs, to name but a few.
I have achieved settlements up to £250,000.00, with many lives bettered and hundreds of very satisfied Claimants who appreciated my empathy and efforts.
Most of my time is now spent on abuse cases, both present and historic. I am able to meet with local clients at a time and place of their choosing.
I am also experienced in other litigation matters including contracts, building disputes and employment law.
Recently, I had success in the Court of Appeal case of JT -v- First Tier Tribunal, where the ‘same roof rule’ was overturned, and JT is now able to claim Criminal Injuries Compensation.
Presently I am leading the fight for justice for the Medomsley Detention Centre victims in the civil Court, heading a group of solicitors and attempting to negotiate a settlement tariff with the Government.
I am vastly experienced, I achieve excellent results and I give a first-class personal service.
