Robyn Halbert
Before entering the legal profession, I studied Politics as an undergraduate studying both at Lancaster University and the University of Missouri, USA, graduating with honours. After a career in the House of Commons, Westminster, and the Department of Justice in Victoria, Australia, I made the transition to law, studying at BPP University and obtaining a distinction in the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
Currently, I work in the Crown Court department at Watson Woodhouse with a niche in defending people accused of drug offences. Whilst a lot of my work involves people accused of supplying drugs, I have some expertise in defending those accused of producing them. For factors such as purity analysis, I work with a range of barristers and outside experts to secure the best possible outcomes for my clients and I am experienced in helping people navigate what is often the most turbulent and difficult time of their lives, with understanding and empathy.
Also, I undertake advocacy in the Magistrates Court and represent clients in the police station. Therefore, I understand fully the potential ramifications of the advice given and actions taken at the earlier stages of the criminal process, and how these may impact matters down the line – ensuring my clients’ cases have the best possible start from the outset.
