I completed my articles, now known as a training contract, with a well-known local solicitor named John Freer and in due course became a partner of that firm.
I then joined James Watson and Co. and helped Watson Woodhouse become one of the largest Criminal Law Firms in the northeast.
Initially, I specialised in Family Law but soon found Criminal Law more rewarding and I have been a Magistrates Court advocate for over 30 years.
I have also achieved accreditation as a Mental Health Lawyer, often dealing with the same Criminal clients who found themselves sectioned because of drugs problems.
I deal with all Magistrates Court work including Road Traffic offences and up to October 2018 I have a 100% success rate in persuading Magistrates not to disqualify a client, who has reached 12 points on his licence because it would cause them “exceptional hardship”.
I regularly attend the Police Station to represent clients and ensure that they are treated fairly by the Police.
I am friendly and approachable and will happily meet with clients at the office or at your home if you have mobility difficulties to discuss any Criminal Law problems you may have
