Telephone calls and emails have been made misusing the name of Watson Woodhouse Solicitor.

What is the Scam?

The SRA has been advised that individuals claiming to be from Watson Woodhouse Solicitors have been directly contacting fraud victims for supposed legal services.

The unauthorised use of law firm names and details of their members of staff in correspondence to members of the public in attempts to commit fraud is increasing across the profession. We have become aware of at least one scam attempting to use the name of our firm and staff members.

Clients of a number of law firms have been targeted by fraudsters claiming that the law firm’s bank details have changed and requesting monies to be sent to a different account, which is in fact the fraudster’s account.  We will not send any notification of a change to our bank details by email, and if you receive any correspondence claiming this, please contact the person dealing with your matter directly to confirm the position.
