Dog Bite Claims

by Watson Woodhouse

More and more dog bite attacks are being reported in the news, and, as a result, the victims of these dreadful attacks, or their friends and family, have contacted no win, no fee solicitors, in order to pursue claims for dog bite compensation.

Dogs are everywhere; they are the UK’s favourite pet, and, while it is not being suggested that all dogs have a vicious streak, it is important to remember that they are still animals that have innate animal urges and a sharp set of teeth! There have been cases of dogs hat have displayed a placid nature since birth, suddenly turning on a family member or friend, and causing serious personal injuries.

When dogs become agitated, there are a number of tell-tale signs that they display, including:

  • pinning their ears back
  • reducing their movement
  • bearing their teeth
  • Snarling

It is wise to use these signs as a warning, in order to avoid being the victim of a dog bite attack and having to make a no win, no fee claim.

Dogs will attack the thing that is closest to them when they become agitated; if you are nearby, therefore. You may be in danger of receiving a nasty nip, or worse. They will go for the most visible body part, which is usually the leg, but if you are sitting down, or if you are small, then your face could take the brunt of the attack. Also, the smaller you are, the less likely it is that you will be able to defend yourself against the dog, possibly then sustaining more injuries.
