Watson Woodhouse Solicitor, Alistair Smith, features in a Channel 5 documentary called ‘The Mysterious Murder of Ann Heron’, which is airing at 10 pm tonight (3rd May 2022).
Ann Heron was murdered by an unidentified killer and found by her husband Peter at the home which they shared on the outskirts of Darlington on August 3rd, 1990. To this day it remains the only unsolved murder by Durham Constabulary since 1952.
Alistair Smith is assisting her husband, Mr Heron, with a complaint against Durham Constabulary over their handling of the original murder investigation and his subsequent arrest in 2005. Alistair has also written to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) asking them to reinvestigate the case with an “independent, objective mind.”
